A SUNDAY LIKE NO OTHER

HI EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE,

It has been a great week for me. My band SOULFUL NOIZE played live on Friday. It was splendid, if not for a better word.

I hope you all are well. The sun is out every day, hugging all of us. And if you can’t see it, it will see you.

Now just before our tale it is time to close your eyes and your thoughts, if only for a moment, and rest. Alright, settle in for another couple of lines more of…

EMILY’S MOMENT

MAN WITH GUN

Emily’s man thought money would solve it all. He bought an old gun from a junkie downtown. He tried to rob a store– got seventy-four dollars–then the clerk grabbed a gun from under the counter. Emily”s husband tried to use his but it jammed. ( Fifty bucks from a junkie? Are you kidding me?)

Sorry, that is it for now. Until next time.

A DECADENT WHISPER OF TROUBLE

HI EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE,

It has been a terrific week. Our band Soulful Noize has been gearing up for a bunch of live shows. And I learned to get through another week. One step at a time. I have been a little lost lately. I think sometimes the journey, well, sometimes I just get tired. As long as I can the fight goes on.

Now we all need to close our eyes and our thoughts.. if only for a moment… and rest. Until next time, these are just my thoughts, called ..

‘ A DARK LONG  STREET’

01 16 12 downtown after rush hour - reduced

Wind blowing cold, I stop and look in a dark store window, and the reflection I see entertains my tired eyes. I am who I want to be.  ME.

A CLASH OF SEASONS

HI EVERYONE EVERYWHERE,

Well it is now RED DEER covered in snow. What can you do? Last Friday night the advocacy group I am part of, ‘FREEBIRDS OF RED DEER’ , co-hosted a concert featuring a great Alberta girl, Donna Durand with special guest Elvin Bruce Berthiaume. The concert was wonderful  down at ‘The Hub’.

Alright, for some of us winter is not easy. Screw it I say. We’ll just do the very best we can. It seems to me Mother Nature has certainly thrown some terrible stuff lately, but I am hoping it slows for those of you going through this. All I can offer right now..close your eyes and your thoughts if for only a moment… and rest.  Now I will try to comfort you with a small passage from my story entitled

‘CHARLES CAMPBELL ALEXANDER’S LAST DAY’

????????????????????????????????????????

I live in the house that Judith and I lived in together for forty years. I miss her a lot. You know what I mean. It’s like the wind stopped calling her name. I’ve been sitting on that back porch looking for her, until my heart can hardly hang on. I mean, is it possible to love someone, anyone, that much?

Until later my friends…
